Kaia Shine's journey as a fire dancer began in 1990 when she first moved to Kauai. She has been teaching and performing throughout the Hawaiian islands, United States, and Canada ever since. She has extensive experience with production, event coordination and performance arts She is a dancer in the theatrical production Kalamaku (www.luaukalamaku.com) on Kauai, and co-owns and manages Soul Fire Productions. She is passionate about sharing the art of fire, and creating inspiration, and beauty through movement and art. She has choreographed and produced several shows and continues to follow her passions. Kaia enjoys sharing the art of firedancing to encourage self-empowerment, strength and joy. When not performing or creating, Kaia can be found enjoying Nature with her dogs on Kauai.
Angela’s and Kaia’s POI spinning classes are appropriate for all ages and levels of experience. Poi flow is the art of weaving and manipulating “poi balls” in a variety of rhytmical and goemetrical patterns. It is great for stregth building, cordination, and movement mediation. As a student you will learn technicality, planes, levels, dimentional space, and basic movement of poi. This class will focus on basic to intermediate levels of poi spinning. This class will not cover the details, meathods, procedures or saftey of fire spining and is strictly for those who wish to begin or further their practices of poi flow.
